Radici e Filari Svicc! Dolcetto 2019

Dolcetto is typically the first grape to ripen and for this reason it is called it “Svicc”, local Piedmontese dialect for “awake”

Appellation: Piemonte Dolcetto DOC

Tasting Notes: On the nose you will find wild blackberries and almonds. On the palate, the wine has pleasantly soft tannins and is nicely balanced.

Food Pairing: Dolcetto is one of Italy’s classic food wines. It’s easy to drink and pairs well with hearty Italian foods, especially those richer, darker meats, tomato sauce or eggplant. It’s also great with spicy foods like vegetable curries.

Vineyard: Planted in 1955, the soil is a chalky marl of Tortonian origin at an altitude of 230m above sea level with an eastern exposure. Biodynamically farmed.

Harvest: Hand picked.

Vinification: Spontaneously fermented for six days with manual stirring and délastage before being decanted into stainless steel vats where the malolactic fermentation takes place. Aged 5 months in stainless steel casks and three months in the bottle.
