The Eugenio Bocchino estate in La Morra, Piemonte was founded in 1996 by husband and wife duo Eugenio + Cinzia, who inherited the land from Cinzia’s grandparents, Giacomo + Camilla.
They biodynamically farm five hectares of vineyards which are divided among seven parcels and dispersed throughout the communes of La Morra, Verduno, Alba, and Roddi. All of the grapes are hand harvested.
Bocchino takes a deliberate “hands off” approach to his winemaking, using techniques that require little elaboration: wines are never heavily extracted, rackings and pump-overs are kept to a minimum and new oak is never used. All wines are fermented spontaneously, unfined and unfiltered. This allows the grapes to truly highlight the unique terroir in this famed region of Piemonte.
