Appellation: Barbera D’Alba D.O.C.
Tasting Notes: This wine has a fragrant nose that is redolent of perfectly ripe red fruit and spice that unfolds into a long, layered palate with notes of wild cherries with hints of licorice, juniper, and earth.
Food Pairing: Red sauce based pasta, lean red meats, grilled mushrooms, roasted eggplant.
Vineyard: The grapes are biodynamically farmed from 30 yr old vines in the 2.3ha vineyard in Frazione Santa Maria (La Morra). The soils are mainly clay with some sand and limestone that add complexity to his product.
Harvest: By hand
Vinification: The juice ferments spontaneously with no temperature control, it is aged in a mix of neutral oak casks and cement vats.
ABV: 13.5% by Vol. Serving Temperature: 55-58 F°
